Kwabena Osei-Bonsu
Founder & Chief Investment Strategist
Founder of FlowWealth. Two decades across West African fixed income, asset allocation and macroeconomic strategy.
Biography
Kwabena Osei-Bonsu founded FlowWealth Research & Strategy to close a gap that had been obvious for years: institutional investors allocating capital to Ghana and West Africa were making decisions on research written for other markets, while Ghanaian professionals had almost nowhere to learn how their own markets worked. FlowWealth was built to serve both audiences from the same body of evidence.
Before founding the firm, Kwabena spent eighteen years in fixed income and multi-asset strategy, latterly as Head of Investment Strategy at a Ghanaian asset manager where the role covered Treasury positioning, duration management through two rate cycles, and the 2022–23 domestic debt exchange. Earlier roles covered sell-side fixed income research and macroeconomic analysis for a regional banking group.
Kwabena writes FlowWealth's Annual and Quarterly Outlooks and leads the firm's asset allocation framework. The consistent argument across that work is that Ghanaian asset prices are far more sensitive to the fiscal and external accounts than to the equity-market narratives that usually dominate local commentary — and that investors who track the former tend to be less surprised by the latter.
